Nomad Eco-Retreat is located in an apple orchard in Kufri, surrounded by deodar forests with majestic views of the snow-capped Himalayas.
The retreat includes traditional mud cottages, Swiss tents, basic tents, an open-air Baithak, and a Café Lounge where we serve local Himachali cuisine, good coffee and organic beverages.
At our retreat, you can browse and borrow books from our library, enjoy the murals on the walls, attend movie nights, stargaze while you warm up next to a bonfire, and enjoy live music. We also have wheelchair access in some areas.
Through the year, we host and organize workshops and retreats.
We offer a wholesome homely experience for guests who are looking for a quiet break. We welcome nature lovers, writers, artists, researchers, and anyone wanting to experience slow mountain village life.
If you’re looking for a party place and hotel facilities, we would not be a good fit. We expect our guests to respect the privacy of others, and discourage loud music and any intrusive behaviour.
4 cottages built in the traditional Himalayan rammed earth construction style, using the soil of the land, combined with modern design – including bay windows with window seats and ensuite tiled bathrooms, comfortable beds, desks, and tea/coffee stations. Each cottage has an open valley view, where residents can enjoy the sunrise and sunsets.
Constructed by a Nepali team who have worked at the site of our retreat for over four decades.

Our long-form residency gives makers room to work away from the noise — a studio, a community of artists, and the orchard outside the door. Open to artists across disciplines, year-round.
